We invite you to join us as we celebrate 32 years of open gardens, with six exclusive gardens for you to explore.
The Griffith Tourism Team are excited for you to enjoy the variety of experiences each garden has to offer.
The 2024 open garden are yet to be confirmed. Check out last year’s open garden features below.
Garden One
Leanne & Grant McMillan
“Birchwood” 380 Boorga Road, Lake Wyangan
Peaceful & relaxing is ‘Birchwood’ – set on 2 acres from a bare block 10 years ago the garden has been created to include formal gardens with urns, pots, Buxus hedges, gazebo and feature trees. The native area is welcoming with surprise elements and wrap around garden beds and paths. There is scattered seating throughout the property to enjoy the views and a little bit of whimsy in every corner.
Providing: Pikelets for Morning/Afternoon tea and Sam’s sausage sizzle

Garden Two
Lyn & Ron Anson
1 Hyandra Street, Griffith
Located on a town corner block this is an ever-evolving garden of flowers, vegetables and trees including, an outdoor fishpond and a poultry unit. In addition to admiring flowers and trees, the garden is also a place to play and have fun. Stepping into small areas one is greeted with a surprise. Strategic use of the nature strip and the long view from the house through Robb Park and beyond gives the illusion of a garden with expansive lawns.

Garden Three
Tris & Louis Sartor
102 Leonard Road, Hanwood
This picturesque country garden is set amongst a citrus orchard near the village of Hanwood. It has recently been extended to compliment the original garden, featuring an abundance of roses and cottage plants. Visitors can wander through the many different sections of this expansive garden enjoying the rose arbours and colourful walkways. Throughout this setting, sunshine gates, cast iron water fountains, a Furphy water cart and various other Australian memorabilia add character to this beautiful rural garden.

Garden Four
Marj & Mick Careri
“Rosewood Park on Stokes” 121 Stokes Road, Hanwood
This spacious botanical garden is rich with hundreds of roses of all colours, sizes, shapes and textures. Surrounded by citrus orchard and grape vineyard, this truly captures the magic of Griffith. Hedged by a wall of roses, flowering trees and a variety of shrubs, this garden has many rooms to explore. An idyllic gazebo and jetty over the picturesque pond complete the property. This year will mark the 20th Anniversary for “Rosewood Park on Stokes”.

Tori Horder & Lawrence Salvestrin
“Davit Farm” 677 Cashmere Rd, Widgelli
A beautiful 3 acre park like garden, featuring large rooms of different colours, rose gardens, dry stone work and a monet lake bursting with colourful water iris, complemented by beautiful urns and statuary sourced from around the world. The sound of a beautiful bronze pan statue tinkles in the lilly pond to the background symphony of birdsong, while the sculpture “Irony” monopolises the white trunked forest. Take the time to sit and enjoy the tranquillity, beauty and vistas of this well-established farm garden.

Garden Six
Emeri De Bortoli
1 De Bortoli Road, Bilbul
Emeri De Bortoli’s gorgeous garden is filled with colour, variety, texture and whimsical charm. The fourteen-acre garden features a mixture of hardy exotics and natives thoughtfully arranged. There are meandering paths and secret gardens to get lost in, dry river beds and dry stone walls, architectural features like the “folly”, whimsical sculptures, a spectacular waterfall planted with natives, and a magical pink island. Last year we debuted the magnificent iron gates and this year we have another new feature: two-dimensional sculptures of children running through the beds adding charm and movement.
